Findings

Radiographs demonstrate several areas of soft tissue sweeling. Osseous erosions centered along extra-articular portions of the bones are also seen.

Discussion

Other inflammatory erosive arthritis of the hand such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) demonstrate distribution of joint abnormalities different from gout. The soft tissue patter of “lumpy bumpy” nodules next to the joints is also different from typical wrist and metacarpophalangeal swelling in RA, and “sausage digits” in PsA.
