Advanced Erosive Arthritis of the Wrist


Coronal T1 and inversion recovery images demonstrate numerous erosions and bone marrow edema in the carpal bones, radius and ulna. Large erosion in the distal radius is well demonstrated on T1 weighted image.

Diff Dx:

Erosive arthritis may be present in a variety of inflammatory conditions, of which rheumatoid arthritis is the most common disease. Other possibilities include psoriatic arthritis, gout, and lupus. In appropriate clinical setting infectious arthritis should also be considered.
